Habit #1 - Get-up Early
Starting by getting up early enough to think, read, and pray in silence. Get up early enough to read and think in silence. Take a few minutes to reflect on scripture, journal your thoughts, and pray for guidance for the day.
Habit #2- Exercise Regularly
Even if you don't feel like exercising, regular exercise can have tremendous benefits, especially when you're a parent or educator of young children.
"During exercise, your body releases chemicals that can improve your mood and make you feel more relaxed. This can help you deal with stress and reduce your risk of depression." – Medline Plus https://medlineplus.gov/benefitsofexercise.html
Habit #3 - Avoid Comparison and Embrace Your Unique Parenting/Teaching Style
A comparison of your classroom, home, or workspace to that of another parent or educator can lead to feelings of envy and jealousy. Concentrate on what you are doing. While it is okay to learn from others, be careful not to fall into the trap of "competition" or feeling inferior.
"A sound heart is life to the body, but envy is rottenness to the bones."
-Proverbs 14:30
Habit #4 - Keep Priorities Straight
In case you're feeling scattered and all over the place, it may be time to reevaluate your priorities. Take a look at your schedule and see what can be removed or rescheduled. Think about creating a daily or weekly task list to help you stay organized.
Habit#5 - Do Something You LOVE
